well, it's over and done. the results, deserved or not, were predictable but who really cares anyways.

for those of you who don't know the critique is a department-wide presentation by each junior (i'm actually a senior but whatever) about their work and what concept they intend to investigate for their senior show.. this year is the second year that there was also an award for the critique, at least i understood it was supposed to be for the critique, but whatever.

my critique went really though and i'm super pumped about where i'm going and how i was received. my professor is proud of me and confident in me and has given me the freedom to explore however i want to, so it's all good. regardless of all of that, i'm really confident in me, which is amazing. i have reached that really awesome state, where while i'm open to criticism, i really don't care whether people like what i'm doing or not. i'm going to do what i do because i need to and want to. it's not about anyone else. it's me challenging myself for my own cathartic and expressive reasons and while i hope people resonate and understand it, it's not about liking it.

so hopefully my ranting has made some sense and if not sorry, feel free to ask.. i know i haven't posted anything all semester but i will work on updating at some point. i still need to take pictures of my current work that actually relates to my concept.
